There is an entire insights industry, to tell you what the future is bringing. And if you didn’t know about the hype cycle, or the latest thing, you’d already have seen it on social media. The distance between the present and future is growing shorter.

At the same time, there’s a worrying concern that while the world is accelerating, the technologies coming faster, scale growing larger, there remains a gap between seeing change and understanding it.
